ENDING PLAYERS ON A SORE NOTE
Adam Scott's scorecard in the final round of the PLAYERS Championship makes for pretty hard reading. The Aussie had a rather solid front nine of 3 bogeys and 2 birdies exiting in 37, though that was merely consolation for an otherwise horror Sunday as Scott unravelled over the next 9 holes with bogey on 10 and double bogeys on 14, 15 and 18 - the last of which he missed a 2ft bogey putt. In hot and windy conditions, Adam took 31 putts for R4 averaging 1.875 per GIR and only finding 44% of fairways. He ended up at +9 for the tournament in T53 position dropping him down to number 11 in FedEx Cup Points Ranking and no.12 in the Money List. Ernie Els has also taken Adam's no.3 ranking.

POOR MID-ROUND COSTS SCOTT
It was moving day on Saturday at the PLAYERS Championship and world number 3, Adam Scott, did exactly that as he birdied his first two holes and was -4 after just 6 holes. Yet that was all the birdies the Australian could manage in tricky, windy conditions where only 17 players shot under par for the round. His continuing trend of missing short putts within a metre again told the story and proved to be his downfall. Bogeys at 8, 9 and 14 dropped Adam back down the leaderboard, signing off for a second consecutive round of 71 to be T20 at +1, a distant 8 shots off the lead needing a rare miracle if he is to claim his 2nd PLAYERS title.

ADAM SCOTT T37 AFTER R2
Australia's Adam Scott made his 15th consecutive cut after carding a solid 1-under par round of 71 in early morning conditions. Scott started off on the back nine which included 2 birdies and a bogey on the 18th. Amazingly, Adam was unable to capitalise on any of the par-5s, his only other birdie coming on the 8th hole, but effectively cancelled out with bogey on the 4th hole. He lies +2, T37th position, 8 shots from the lead. The half-way cut line was made at +3 with several big names missing the weekend including Vijay Singh, Steve Stricker, Geoff Ogilvy, Justin Rose, Padraig Harrington, Angel Cabrera and Zach Johnson. Adam will tee-off at 11.10am local time for R3 alongside Stewart Cink.

SCOTT IMPLODES ON THE BACK NINE
The tricky back nine of TPC Sawgrass caught Adam Scott out on Thursday for day 1 of the PLAYERS Championship. The former winner appeared to be cruising after being -3 after 4 holes (and missing a short birdie putt at the first!). Bogeys at 6 and 8 brought Scott back before he sank another birdie on the 9th to exit the front nine in 34. His back nine, however, told a whole different story as Adam fell from -2 to +3 in a space of 5 holes. Adam managed to get one back on the par-5 16th before giving it straight back with a three-putt on 17. He is currently T91 and will most probably have to shoot at least 2-under tomorrow if he is to make the cut.

PRE-TOURNAMENT PLAYERS INTERVIEW
Adam's Wednesday press conference transcript can now be read here (it will be added to the fan site ASAP). Adam talks about how achieving Mickelson's #2 ranking is well within his reach over the next year or so if he continues to play well and how he is very much looking forward to the tournament - one that he has played well in from the beginning including, of course, that famous victory in 2004.

ADAM'S MAY COLUMN IN AUS. GOLF DIGEST
In the May edition of the Australian Golf Digest, Adam writes about the one golf rule he would liked change - a want for a free drop after hitting into a sand or grass-filled divot! Adam also gives some tips as to how to hit such a shot. To read his column as well as the other columns from earlier in the year, visit THIS topic.
The PLAYERS Championship will get under way in little under 2 days and Adam has been drawn alongside Jim Furyk and Johnson Wagner - teeing off at 1.33pm local time for R1.

ADAM JUST MAKES THE WEEKEND
Adam Scott sunk a 14-foot par putt on the last hole to guarantee he would stick around for the weekend at the Wachovia Championship. The PGA Tour's most recent winner struggled on the greens average a miserable 2.000 putts per GIR. Scott started off his round with birdie with another one on the 4th hole before mixing bogey with birdie at the 6th and 7th holes to exit the front nine in 34. His back nine again, however, told the story with 3 bogeys, mostly missing short par putts. This left him right on the cut line at +1, T66th, trailing leader Jason Bohn by 10.
