US PGA CHAMPIONSHIP PREVIEW
Posted on 07 Aug 2008 by suwii

Adam Scott has worked extensively with coach Butch Harmon over the last three days in preparation for this week's US PGA Championship and is showing signs that he could well and truly break his major drought this week. Scott has admitted, however, that he is not fully 100% but almost there after recovering from a seemingly recurring illness that also halted his preparation prior to the Masters. He will begin his campaign at 1.55pm local time in one of many marquee groups alongside Ernie Els and Fred Couples hoping for a solid start.

FINAL ROUND 68 PLACES SCOTT T56
Posted on 04 Aug 2008 by suwii
Adam Scott managed his best round of the week with a 2-under par round of 68 to climb up the leaderboard slightly to T56th position at +5. Fijian Vijay Singh came away with his first ever WGC title proving that age again is not a barrier in winning. Scott birdied the 2nd and 3rd holes and was solid throughout the day though there were missed opportunities to birdie with 8ft, 4ft and two 11ft chances drifting away. However, signs were good leading into this week's US PGA Championship, the last major of the year.
THIRD ROUND 72 AT FIRESTONE
Posted on 03 Aug 2008 by suwii
Adam could only manage a third round of +2, 72 on Saturday of the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational to lie at a dismal +7 - 15 shots out of the lead held by Englishman Lee Westwood, Phil Mickelson and Vijay Singh. Scott's only birdie of the day came on the par-5 2nd though he missed several other opportunities on the front nine. Missed par putts of 2ft and 5ft saw him bogey consecutively at 13 and 14 and to add to the bogey on the 9th - he signed off in T68th position. No doubt Adam will be looking for a strong finish in Akron tomorrow before moving on to the bigger prize of the US PGA Championship next week. He will tee-off at 8.30am local time for the final round.
SCOTT PLUMMETS TO T65
Posted on 02 Aug 2008 by suwii
Adam Scott could only manage a second round 76 during round two of the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational. Whilst most of the big guns were making some moves on Saturday, Scott ought to do the same and a birdie birdie start was just what he needed. However he found water on the third hole subsequently doubling it. Bogeys at 6 and 9 and Adam was out in 37. He had another two consecutive bogeys at holes 13 and 14 before sinking a birdie putt at the par-3 15th. Another visit to the water on 16 saw him double yet again. A missed 10ft par putt at the last sees him at +5 overall in T65 position. He will tee-off at 8.20am local time with Craig Parry for R3.
FIRST ROUND 69 HAS SCOTT IN THE HUNT
Posted on 01 Aug 2008 by suwii
Starting off on the back nine, world number four Adam Scott was +2 after just 5 holes thanks to bogeys at 13 and 15. A birdie on the par-5 16th righted the ship and after exiting the back nine in 36, he holed three more birdies at the 2nd, 5th and 7th holes until a late bogey on the 8th - his second last for the round saw him sign off for a 69 to lie -1, T20th just 3 shots behind first round leader Retief Goosen. He will tee-off at 1.10pm local time for R2.

BEST FINISH IN MAJOR THIS YEAR
Posted on 21 Jul 2008 by suwii
Adam Scott has recorded his best finish out of the three majors so far this year with a solid final round 72 placing him overall T16th at an amazing +13. Padraig Harrington of Ireland successfully defended his title with a 1-under par round of 69 to win the championship at +3. Scott started the day 9 shots adrift of 54-hole leader Greg Norman, and could not have asked for a worst start with three consecutive bogeys to begin his round. He again nailed the par-3 4th hole like he did on Saturday before a birdie and bogey on holes 7 and 8 saw him exit in 36. Adam went bogey, birdie and bogey over holes 10-12 before holing birdie at the 15th to move him back to +13. He signed off for a 72 - his second best round for the week. The placing saw him collect a nice $106,254 for his efforts though this drops him to no.19 on the PGA Tour Money List - but moves him up to no.22 on the European Tour's Order of Merit.
Adam will now take a week's break before a big two weeks ahead at the WGC event in Ohio and US PGA Championship the week after.

Adam Scott could only manage a second round of 4-over par (74) to drop down the leaderboard to +4 overall in T16th position. Scott carded 2 birdies against 6 bogeys with an inward nine of 36 and his back nine again letting him down - a 38 - which included a missed 8-foot par putt on the last. However, he is only 5 shots from leader K.J Choi who managed a tough 67 in the afternoon to take the lead at -1 from Greg Norman at even par. Adam will tee-off at 1.15pm local time for R3 alongside Soren Hansen.
